New contracts with UTCL

On February 11, 2021, UltraTech Cement Ltd. (UTCL), the third largest cement producer in the world and the largest manufacturer of grey cement, ready mix concrete (RMC) and white cement in India, signalled continuous trust in KHD technology by signing contracts for various clinkerization and grinding circuits for more than Euro 30 million with Humboldt Wedag India Private Limited (HW India).

KHD receives letter of award - 25.01.2021 / 14:52 CET

Cologne, Germany, January 25, 2021 – On January 18, 2021, Humboldt Wedag India Private Limited (HW India), New Delhi, India, a subsidiary of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (KHD), Cologne, received a Letter of Award from the customer UltraTech Cement Limited. The Letter of Award relates to three new kiln lines, one new raw meal grinding plant with two KHD roller presses, and the upgrade of five existing clinker grinding plants with KHD roller presses. The engineering and supply of equipment as well as supervisory services related to erection and commissioning comprise a potential order volume of more than € 30 million. The customer as well as HW India are currently negotiating with the aim of concluding a corresponding EP (Engineering and Procurement) contract package.

HW India will book the order intake after the contracts will have been concluded and all the conditions to fully commence with the execution of the work as specified in the contracts are fulfilled.

KHD signs contracts in India - 17.03.2020 / 15:55 CET

Cologne, Germany, March 17, 2020 – Humboldt Wedag India Private Ltd. (“HW India”), New Delhi, India, and Humboldt Wedag GmbH (“HW GmbH”), Cologne, Germany, both being subsidiaries of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (“KHD”), Cologne, have signed contracts with ACC Limited, a Group company of LafargeHolcim Ltd. The contract scope comprises an EP contract for the engineering, supply of equipment and supervisory services related to erection and commissioning of the raw meal grinding unit and the pyro line as well as the supply and installation of the E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) package for the entire cement plant. The entire contract package is worth the equivalent of more than EUR 35 million.

KHD strengthens Management Board

Cologne, Germany, February 26, 2020 – Effective from 1st of February, 2020, Matthias Mersmann has been appointed by the Supervisory Board as a new member of the Management Board of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG. He contributes his long-term expertise in the technology of cement manufacturing processes and equipment design which he has acquired in various executive positions with OEM suppliers as well as independent consultant. From 1994 to 2008, he has worked for KHD Humboldt Wedag in Cologne and has become familiar with the product portfolio, the staff and the cement clients.

KHD signs next Pyrorotor contract in South Korea

Cologne, Germany, February 14, 2020 – Asia Cement Company Ltd (Korea) awarded Humboldt Wedag GmbH, a subsidiary of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG, with a supply and engineering contract for the modernization of its 3rd clinker production line located close to Jecheon-si, Korea. The target of the upgrade project is to increase the alternative fuel substitution rate to above 85% of calciner fuel, as well as the reduction of NOx to satisfy local emission limits.

KHD signs contract in the USA - 26.07.2019 / 19:41 CEST

Cologne, Germany, July 26, 2019 – Humboldt Wedag, Incorporated (HW Inc.), Norcross, Georgia/USA, a subsidiary of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (KHD), Cologne, has signed a contract with Lehigh Cement Company LLC, a subsidiary of HeidelbergCement Group. The contract for the engineering, supply of equipment and structural steel as well as advisory services related to erection and commissioning for a cement plant in the USA covers an order volume of more than EUR 100 million.

The EP (Engineering and Procurement) contract will be booked as order intake as soon as the conditions to commence with the execution of all the work as specified in the contract are fulfilled.

This ad-hoc announcement is a clarification of the announcement published on July 3, 2019, regarding the conclusion of a non-binding letter of intent with a customer in North America.

The customer and HW Inc. intend to enter into negotiations promptly with the aim of concluding a corresponding EP (Engineering and Procurement) contract.

KHD plans headcount reduction - 12.03.2019 / 13:38 CET

Cologne, Germany, March 12, 2019 – Today the Executive Board of Humboldt Wedag GmbH (HWG), Cologne, a major subsidiary of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (KHD), Cologne, informed KHD’s Management Board and the Works Council of HWG about a planned major reorganization. HWG's Executive Board expects that the business environment in cement plant construction industry will remain difficult in the near future and that existing personnel capacities cannot be sufficiently utilized. HWG must therefore adapt its structures to the current business volume in order to return to profitability in the medium term. HWG's management plans to cut approximately 80 jobs. The measures required to implement the reorganization will be discussed with the works council in the coming weeks.
