Cement is made to last. Our ambition is to make cement production as sustainable as the product itself. We’re not resting on current industry standards, even though we set many of these ourselves in recent decades. We’re looking beyond, driving the development of innovative solutions for cement production, tailored to the unique needs of individual plants. We’re staying true to our motto, our tradition: a little better, every day.
Who we are
We supply equipment, components and complete plants for the production of the world’s most widely used product: cement. In addition, we support our customers around the world with customized services for the analysis, optimization and development of their existing plants.
Three things are particularly important to us: Individual service. Genuine partnerships. And responsibility for the world in which we live.
As a traditional company with roots in the German Rhineland, values such as reliability are fundamental to us. But it’s reliability that goes beyond the smooth running of our products and services and into a true partnership with our customers and the cement industry as a whole.
We bring this ethos to everything we do. Our expertise lies in meeting individual requirements. Many of our inventions have been born out of our customers’ needs – and our efforts to solve our customers’ problems before they arise. Many of these innovations are now industry standards: trend-setting German engineering at its best.
Tradition and innovation. Innovation by tradition. This is our ambition. This is our everyday mission. This is KHD.
How we work
As a global company, we serve many stakeholders. First and foremost, our customers. At the same time, we must not forget our environment, and the many, regionally-specific regulations that have been enacted to protect it. And finally, our investors, who want to be as satisfied as our customers at the end of the fiscal year.
Conflicting interests? Not for us. Service is our Number One focus: we therefore strive daily to be excellent partners to our customers. For this reason alone, we drive innovation and – with it – ecological solutions. Because being greener is also good for business. This satisfies our customers, protects the environment – and, as a result, keeps our investors happy. It’s what we call a win-win-win.
It’s all well and good us telling you about ourselves. But we don’t expect you to just take our word for it. It’s why we believe it’s important to be independently certified. Which we are. All KHD customer service centers are certified according to ISO 9001. This joint, global certificate guarantees that we meet the highest quality standards at all our worldwide locations.
Anyone who knows where we come from can imagine where we want to go. When KHD was founded in Cologne in 1856, the city’s cathedral was still missing its impressive spire. Today, Cologne’s landmark is one of the most famous buildings in the world. Nevertheless, the cathedral is never finished; new work is constantly being carried out. Just like the cathedral, KHD has undergone constant change – and one or two restorations – over the past two centuries. But just like the cathedral, we have accumulated great treasure during this time: not in gold, but in experience.
Together with our strategic partner, AVIC Beijing Co. Ltd, we have been setting our vision for the next two centuries since 2011, with a focus on competent leadership, customer service and clean solutions. All of which combine to help cement producers around the world to work more profitably, more energy and resource efficiently, and more sustainably.
