Guinee Industries Ciments selects KHD’s COMFLEX® technology for upgrade of their existing cement grinding unit at Conakry Cement Plant in Guinee-Africa

Guinee Industries Ciments (GIC) awarded KHD Humboldt Wedag a new contract to upgrade its cement grinding plant located in the capital city Conakry, Guinee. GIC will integrate a COMFLEX® system into their existing ball mills. The system will mark the third COMFLEX® system with roller press technology in West Africa.

With the latest COMFLEX® system, Guinee Industries Ciments (GIC) will increase the capacity of their cement grinding line by more than 100% and save over 20% in operational energy costs per ton. These were key factors in GICs’ decision to choose KHD and will allow them to maintain their position as a major player in the region.

KHD’s scope includes the engineering and delivery of mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as the supervision of erection and commissioning for the new COMFLEX® SC16-3500. The core equipment includes:

  • Roller Press RPS 16-170/180 with ROLCOX® system for control and monitoring
  • Cascade separator, type VS 620 as a static classifier
  • High efficiency separator SEPMASTER, type SKS-VC 3500 as a dynamic classifier
  • System fan HKSK 212-275

The commissioning of the new COMFLEX® system is planned for the end of 2017. With this reference KHD continues to demonstrate their market leadership in roller press technologies in EMEA.
