KHD COMFLEX® Roller Press systems for ASKALE’s Akoluk and Bilecik Cement Plants in Turkey

Askale Cimento continues underline and expand their market strength in the western and eastern regions of Turkey and places order with KHD for new cement grinding systems in Akoluk and Bilecik.

Askale Cimento once again placed its trust in KHD’s technology and awarded KHD with two new COMFLEX® grinding units. In Akoluk the new COMFLEX® system will be installed in front of a new 100 tph ball mill. In Bilecik the COMFLEX® unit will allow Askale Cemento to increase the existing capacity from 100 tph to 210 tph @ 3800 blaine. Between 2006 and 2011 KHD supplied three kiln lines to Askale plants in Askale, Van and Gümüshane.

KHD’s scope includes engineering as well as the supply of mechanical and electrical equipment. KHD will also supervise erection and commissioning of the new systems.

The core equipment of the COMFLEX® SC16-3500 clinker grinding system includes:

  • Roller Press RPS 16-170/180 with ROLCOX® system for control and monitoring.
  • Cascade separator, type VS 618 as static classifier.
  • High efficiency separator SEPMASTER, type SKS-VC 3500 as dynamic classifier.
  • System fan HKSK 212/275.

KHD is known in the industry as a modernization specialist and will integrate the new COMFLEX® system to operate in combination with Askale’s ball mill systems. Askale Cimento was convinced by KHD’s expertise in increasing output by combining their current system with the most widely-sold roller press technology in the cement industry. Many COMFLEX® users often run the system as a finished grinding unit, without the ball mill. This saves energy with no sacrifice in cement quality.

With the installation of the latest COMFLEX® grinding system, Askale Cimento will have two similar systems that are equipped with the most advanced grinding technology in the market.

Commissioning of both COMFLEX® systems is planned for the first part of 2017.

With this new order KHD has now sold six COMFLEX® plants in Turkey. Other COMFLEX® systems are in operation in Denizli, KCS, Aslan and Batisöke.
