KHD further solidifies its leading position in the Turkish cement market

YD Madencilik (Üstyapi Insaat Group) awarded Humboldt Wedag GmbH with the engineering and procurement of a new 5.000 tpd clinker production line near Yiglica, Düzce, in the Marmara region of Turkey. KHD is responsible for engineering and equipment supply, as well as the supervision of erection and commissioning. Moreover, KHD also provides its SIMULEX® plant simulation software to mirror the operation of the new plant.

The new clinker production line will consist of the following KHD core components:

  • Six-stage preheater with PYROCLON® LowNOX AF calciner, equipped with a PYROTOP® compact mixing chamber, tertiary air duct and the
  • PYROBOX® calciner firing system
  • Three tire rotary kiln, with a diameter of 4,8m
  • PYRO-JET® kiln burner
  • PYROFLOOR® clinker cooler equipped with a PYROCRUSHER® system

After commissioning, YD Madencilik’s plant will operate KHD’s most efficient six-stage preheater in Turkey. And thanks to lowest emission output of KHD’s proven LowNOX AF calciner, the environment in the Düzce region will remain unharmed.

The new line for YD Madencilik will be the 52nd kiln line from KHD in Turkey. KHD is the undisputed leader in the Turkish cement market with close to 70% of Turkish production units designed and installed by KHD.

Commissioning of the plant is scheduled for the third quarter of 2019.

KHD grants € 50 million intercompany loan

KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (KHD) has entered into a second € 50 million loan agreement with AVIC International (HK) Group Ltd., Hong Kong, as the borrower.
The loan bears interest at a rate of six percentage points per annum. The term of the loan agreement is three years.

KHD replaces existing bonding line facility with bilateral bonding line agreements

KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (KHD) has replaced its existing bonding line facility with a new long-term solution. On August 25, 2014, KHD cancelled its existing bonding line facility with a consortium of banks, which had issued bank guarantees of over € 80.3 million as per December 31, 2013. The Group replaced this facility with two bilateral bonding line agreements with the Deutsche Bank AG (€ 40 million) and the Raiffeisen Bank International AG, Wien (€ 38 million).

KHD adjusts forecast

KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (KHD), Cologne, is updating its annual budget and adjusting its forecast for the 2014 financial year accordingly. Although the Parts & Services segment is expected to perform better than originally planned, the Capex segment has been strongly affected by risks arising from the current economic and political developments.
