KHD participates in the ACCSESS project

Starting in May 2022, KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG participates in the ACCSESS project to develop carbon capture utilization & storage technologies for the cement industry.

The international R&D consortium will be working on a comprehensive development program which will generate several pilot implementations of carbon capture technologies in cement plants, pulp and paper-, biorefineries and waste-to-energy plants in Europe.

KHD successfully delivers the most modern, second-largest cement plant in Northern America. The new plant significantly reduces energy consumption and emissions per ton of cement. First clinker was produced on 23 April, 2023.

KHD has secured a major new order from India’s largest cement company. The package of contracts comprises two complete pyro lines and eight grinding units for UltraTech Cement Limited, and continues a collaboration between the two companies that now goes back over 15 years.
