KHD wins ‘Most innovative technology for alternative fuels use’

At the 6th Global CemFuels Conference in Aachen, Germany, KHD’s Combustion Chamber won the award for ‘Most innovative technology for alternative fuels use’. The awards were given based on the results of an online survey that prompted hundreds of votes, cast by cement industry professionals from 22 countries around the world. Also awarded at the event was KHD customer Continental Cement, of Hannibal, Missouri, for ‘Outstanding Alternative Fuel Project’. The conference, which took place on March 5 thru 6, 2012, attracted 150 delegates from 22 countries, and showcased 25 presentations on alternative fuels in the cement and lime industry. Aside from the presentations, the highlight of the event was the awards ceremony on the evening of the 5th. The awards were presented during a dinner cruise along the River Maas. Delegates travelled by coach to the city of Maastricht, in the Netherlands, where they boarded the yacht. Once aboard the yacht, the delegates enjoyed the awards presentation, followed by the river cruise full of food and entertainment.
