Supervisory Board appoints Yizhen “Mario” Zhu as third Management Board member of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG

Cologne, March 29, 2011 – The Supervisory Board of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (“KHD”) has appointed Yizhen “Mario” Zhu (39) to be the company’s third Management Board member. As COO Asia Pacific, Yizhen “Mario” Zhu will take on the future responsibility for the integration of KHD technology, products and services into international EPC (turnkey plant) projects, as well as for the expansion of KHD Group’s business activities in China, and in the entire Asia-Pacific region. Before moving to KHD, Mr. Zhu led the cement division (CATIC Cement Tech) of CATIC Beijing Co. Ltd. as Assistant President since 2008.

The areas of responsibility of the two Management Board members Jouni Salo (CEO) and Manfred Weinandy (CFO) are unaffected by Yizhen “Mario” Zhu’s appointment. The Supervisory Board has appointed Yizhen “Mario” Zhu to the Management Board for a three- year period of office

KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (KHD), one of the leading suppliers of plant and services for the cement industry, has announced today that previously projected revenues (August 2011) of € 270 million for the 2011 financial year will not be reached. Uncertainty in some markets, in particular India, has led to lower cement demand and thus customer postponements in project execution. Change in Management Board – Finance

Manfred Weinandy, CFO of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG has decided to leave the company for personal reasons. The supervisory board has agreed to accept the resignation of Mr Weinandy from office with effect as of today as well as to the mutual cancellation of his service agreement.

KHD wins order for 5,000 t/d kiln line in Brazil

Humboldt Wedag Inc., a subsidiary of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (KHD) has entered today into a contract with Cimentos Liz S.A. in Brazil for the equipment supply, engineering and site advisory and commissioning services, for a new 5,000 t/d production line.
